Vacant position as RECON research assistant at ARENA, University of Oslo The coordinating partner of RECON, ARENA - Centre for European Studies at the University of Oslo, announces a position as a full time research assistant to support the RECON team in its scientific and administrative coordinating work. The research assistant will be assumed for one year, starting in September 2011, and will be linked to other projects at ARENA after the end of RECON in January 2012. Two PhD fellowships vacant at ARENA, University of Oslo Two positions as PhD fellows are available at ARENA - Centre for European Studies, University of Oslo. The research focus for the first fellowship should be within one of the core research areas of ARENA, while the second second fellowship is within the field of European foreign and security policy. ARENA is seeking candidates who have graduated within the social sciences. The required qualification for the positions at the time of appointment is a two year master’s degree (or equivalent) in the social sciences. Candidates should hold a PhD (post-doc position) or Master’s degree (PhD position) within the social sciences. The duration of the fellowship is four years. The research assistant will contribute to elaborating RECON’s theoretical framework (WP 1), in particular by clarifying the concepts of legitimacy, democracy and justice and their interrelations. The position is announced for a period of 2 years. The deadline for application is 20 June 2008. One research position is for 6 months, and renewable up to a total of 12 months, to start from 1 January 2008. The second research position is for 5 months (non renewable), to start from 1 February 2008. The researcher will in particular contribute to RECON’s work package on Representation and Institutional Make-up. The appointment is for a fixed 2-year term starting 1 December 2007. Postgraduate research position vacant at the University of León One position as postgraduate researcher is available at the University of León. The researcher will dedicate his/her full time to RECON, and in particular to the work package on political economy, with Dr. Agustín José Menéndez as WP leader.
